Esther Williams, a singer in the 70's is suing Tupac Shakur's estate as well as rapper Ghostface Killah of the infamous Wu Tang Clan. Williams is accusing Shakur and Ghostface of sampling her 1976 song "Last Night Changed It All".

The sample was used on Shakur's 2002 Better Dayz and on Ghostfaces 2004 Pretty Toney album. Williams is suing each estate for $10,000,000.00.

Al's "War On Hip-Hop"

Al's "War On Hip-Hop"

Al Sharpton is devoting his valuable time to fighting the "War on Hip-Hop". Sharpton plans to invest money into the stocks of big time distributors of Hip Hop. Sharpton's groups being Universal Music Group and Time Warner.

The recent focus on the negative lyrics in Hip Hop is thanks to none other than the recent event involving shock jock, Don Imus. Imus use of derrogatory terms was defended by some claiming that it was the fault of rappers for desensitizing the derrogatory terms that are used.

Hip Hop has been blamed for allowing women to degrade themselves and objectifying women. Although Hip Hop is a factor in the demeaning of women and their bodies, the media is the main culprit. You can see ads where women are being sexually explicit and where men are drooling over scandally-clad women in commercials.

Allegedly Eve was riding around Hollywood and authorities pulled her over under suspicion of drunk driving.

D'Day 4 B'Day

Hit R&B singer, Beyonce', has faced some attacks from the media lately. Bey's re-released B'Day album, the Deluxe Edition, has been pulled from shelves on a count of some legal issues.
Beyonce allegedly re-recorded British singer Des'ree's 1996 single "I'm Kissing You", and released it as her own track "Still In Love (Kissing You)".
Singer Des'ree is best known for single "Gotta Be", which debuted in the 90's. Surprisingly, R&B singer Des'ree is only requesting $150,000.00, which is chump changed compared to Bey's album sales.
The clearance for the re-recording o f the song had not been cleared when Beyonce recorded the song anyway. The deal was not to create a video for the song and to leave the track in the same way that she found it, which obviously was not adhered to....The B'Day Deluxe Edition album has been pulled until May 4.

Nickelodeon: Gettin' Gangsta

In the news lately there have been reports of a shooting that occured at a Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards afterparty. April 1st shots were fired at a drapery store in L.A. ;the building was being rented out for the party. Three teenagers were shot, but were not severly injured. Police said that there was most likely gang activity involved and an automatic weapon was used.

Personally, I think that whenever there are teenagers and shooting involved...police automatically yell "Gang FIght!!!"....

There were no celebrities attending the party and it was NOT an official function of the Kid's Choice Awards. The party was said to have a crowd of up to 200 teenagers. Thankfully no one was severly injured and no arrests have been made.

The GAME..."Couldn't Get Far"

The rapper known as The GAME, formally known as Jayceon Taylor, has been issued a warrant for his arrest. According to Bet.com Game was allegedly posing as a undercover agent to a New York taxi cab driver. While in the cab The Game "forced" the cab driver to run red lights and violate other traffic laws. The warrant has not been issued for that particular offense, but has been issued for The GAME skipping his court date. Officers said that if Game appears at his next court date, June 13th, the warrant will NOT be activated.

Is it me or do rappers think they can get away with anything? Maybe he was rushing to his court appearance...who knows?

PRIMETIME 4 JAIL TIME

info: www.bet.com

Rappers and jail time seem to go hand and hand these days. If jail time equals street cred in the rap game...rappers of today are truly certified. But in today's new rappers and big time celebrities have been getting caught up in Hollywood's legal system.

Young Buck recently caught a charge recently for outstanding warrants in his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee. Buck was cited early for driving on a suspended license. Young Buck, aka David Brown, was released on $1,000 bail and is scheduled for a future court date.

In other jailtime news, rapper Mystikal was released earlier this week after serving three years of a six year sentence. The rapper was charged with sexual assault after allegedly forcing an employee of his to perform sexual acts in return for $80,000.00 worth of debt.

And R&B singer Brandy has recently been brought up on charges facing a fatal car wreck that she was proved to be at fault for. Brandy, mostly known by her starring role in the series Moesha, has been hit with a $50,000,000.00 wrongful death lawsuit by the parents of the victim.
