Al's "War On Hip-Hop"

Al's "War On Hip-Hop"

Al Sharpton is devoting his valuable time to fighting the "War on Hip-Hop". Sharpton plans to invest money into the stocks of big time distributors of Hip Hop. Sharpton's groups being Universal Music Group and Time Warner.

The recent focus on the negative lyrics in Hip Hop is thanks to none other than the recent event involving shock jock, Don Imus. Imus use of derrogatory terms was defended by some claiming that it was the fault of rappers for desensitizing the derrogatory terms that are used.

Hip Hop has been blamed for allowing women to degrade themselves and objectifying women. Although Hip Hop is a factor in the demeaning of women and their bodies, the media is the main culprit. You can see ads where women are being sexually explicit and where men are drooling over scandally-clad women in commercials.
